His first idea was to sell "stink bombs" to the other kids at school. He would purchase a pack and then sell them individually. I only found out after receiving an irate call from the school principal advising me of this and that he wasn't too pleased. He commented that he wouldn't want to have to close down the school canteen because of all the potent smells around the place as each kid released the stinkers. I assured him that I would speak to my son, which I did, only to be told "but mum, I have already made $50 profit". I couldn't argue with the logic but advised him that it may be best to think up another action plan - which he did.
His next idea was to sell "condoms" (much to mum's dismay) - especially to the older students. Again he would buy in bulk and sell individually. He obviously thought he was doing a good deed promoting safe sex!!!.
Another one of his ideas was to sell energy drinks to students and teachers - although he nearly got suspended for this one. He changed his tactic a bit and managed to keep on selling them. This time a bit more work went into the planning as he would purchase again in bulk, take them home and refrigerate them and then take them to school the next day - keeping them nice and cold for the convenience of his buyers. As the drinks weren't sold in the canteen he created a viable market.
My son had worked out from a young age that if you were polite and helpful to others and provided a service and/or convenience for others, he soon got results. One of his other traits was to be very persistent and not give up. Also from when he was 12 he would regularly go to the local Boost buying his favourite drink, then asking if he could work there part time. He was told he was too young, but when he turned 13 the boss would try him out - probably thinking after the first day he would give up if he even turned up. The day after my son's birthday he went straight up and again asked the boss - advising him that he was now 13. The boss kept his word, putting him on roster for the next Saturday - their busiest day of the week. My son worked like a trojan and impressed the owner - so although still a bit too young he got his first part time job.
Between his part time job and other ideas he started up his cashflow. Now he is an apprentice plumber, but still works occasionally at Boost. Initally it was to give him spending money. He has already saved and gone to Bali, worked out a budget, planned to get braces for his teeth and is saving towards a car. He asked me for some books to read with some wealth tips and ideas and he is implementing them into his routine and way of thinking. He is looking forward to more holidays and a house in the near future and then onwards from there. He is on his way to enriching his life and creating a wonderful future. He has the right MINDSET!!!
